West Devon Borough Council covers Chagford, Okehampton, Princetown and Tavistock.


'When parking a motor home in any of our pay & display car parks you need to purchase a ticket for each bay you occupy or part occupy. Your motor home must not cause an obstruction to other car park users and needs to be parked in a safe manner.

Generally vehicles over 5 metres are not permitted in the Councils car parks. However, as a concession, mobile homes which are larger than the size of the bay may park in the following car parks.

TAVISTOCK - Riverside car park PL19 9AZ. 85 spaces.
OKEHAMPTON - Mill Road car park. EX20 1PR - 83 spaces.
One ticket per bay must be purchased. For example if the vehicle takes up two bays then the driver must purchase two pay and display tickets and clearly display them both in the vehicle. The vehicle must not cause any obstruction to other car park users.

Overnight camping is not permitted in any car park at any time.'

Plymouth City Council

Plymouth - The City Council recommends motorhomes park at the Milehouse park and ride at the Plymouth Argyle Football Club on Outland Road (PL2 3DE). MH can take 2 spaces. Markings soon for MH.

Dartmoor - the size of your vehicle may mean some roads are off limits because of narrow roads and small bridges. You cannot park your motorhome or campervan overnight in laybys, at the roadside, or in car parks.
